Job summary

Humana is seeking a Director of AI Engineering to lead strategy, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale agentic AI capabilities within Humana's AI platform. This leader will drive the development of foundational AI services, frameworks, and platforms that enable the organization to rapidly build, deploy, and scale next-generation AI solutions across diverse business domains.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in AI/ML engineering with proven leadership experience in

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
10+ years in AI/ML engineering with at least 5 years in leadership.
Proficiency with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), Python and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow a team of AI engineers building foundational services and tools.
Stay current with generative AI trends and apply them to the platform.
Drive cross-functional alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and data teams.
Mentor engineers, fostering experimentation and excellence.
Ensure CI/CD, testing, observability, and incident response across services.
Define strategic plans and balance near-term needs with long-term investments.
Design reusable components for LLM orchestration, evaluation pipelines and observability.
