Job summary

Humana Inc. in Louisville, KY is seeking an Associate Director of AI Enablement to lead the Enterprise Engineering Enablement program, building Humana's ADLC governance and AI-native delivery platform across four tracks for HIPAA-regulated software.

The role blends leadership with hands-on engineering: 15+ years in software, 5+ years guiding managers, expertise in Kubernetes and cloud, LLM development, and strong communication to drive enterprise change and cross-functional alignment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering
• 5+ years leading engineering managers or multiple squads
• Ownership of a multi-track/platform-scale program
• Hands-on depth in distributed systems or cloud engineering
• Production experience with Kubernetes and major cloud platforms
• Working fluency with LLM application development
• Shipping in a regulated environment with security/compliance
• Ability to drive alignment across peer orgs without direct authority
• Experience with enterprise-grade engineering platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube)
• Experience with IaC, Kubernetes, DevOps trends like GitOps/Argo/TFE
• Knowledge of large language models and trends
• Excellent written communication (architecture docs, VP-ready briefings)

Responsibilities

• Review architecture decisions and ADRs; write when needed
• Prototype agent frameworks and integrations
• Read traces and debug agent behavior with engineers
• Contribute to reference implementations
• Participate in design reviews as a contributor
• Lead enterprise-wide change with empathy and clarity
• Mentor and grow engineering managers and leads
• Ensure delivery of platform and product engineering across teams
• Drive alignment across internal stakeholders
• Communicate progress to senior leadership
