Job summary

Speechify is seeking a results-driven Windows desktop engineer to design and ship native apps across Windows platforms using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML and at times C++. You will own features end‑to‑end, from conception to release, with emphasis on performance, accessibility, and cross‑version compatibility.

Collaborate with product designers, QA and others, mentor teammates, review code, and shape long‑term architecture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI and C#/XAML, with native C++ experience preferred.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with emphasis on reliability and performance.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs and building inclusive software.
• Excellent fundamentals in OOP, design patterns, data structures, and multi‑threading.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK and WinUI.
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts and ensure screen-reader support and keyboard navigation.
• Collaborate with product designers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature roadmaps.
• Own full lifecycle of features: conception to release and maintenance.
• Diagnose complex bugs and optimize performance and memory usage.
