Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop application developer to shape the next generation of our native apps across Windows 10/11+. You will own architecture and implement features with Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and occasional C++.

You will collaborate with design, QA, and product teams to deliver accessible, high-performance software, ensuring cross-version compatibility and robust reliability across releases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML; native C++ a plus.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture, including interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with reliability, performance, scalability.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows (UI Automation) and inclusive software.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK and C#.
• Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, and responsive UI.
• Drive accessibility efforts across UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, and screen readers.
• Collaborate with product designers, QA, and engineers to shape feature roadmaps and UI/UX architecture.
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and rendering issues with robust solutions.
