Leigh & Co. Events in Ellsworth, Maine is seeking a Lead Wedding Coordinator for the 2026 season. This contract role offers flexible scheduling and on-site wedding planning, with training provided. Pay is $400 for a total of 10-12 hours per project.

You will lead weddings onsite, work with client experience managers and coordinators, oversee setup, coordinate vendors, and ensure a flawless guest experience, including rehearsals and day-of execution.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years experience as a wedding planner or event planner.
• Must have strong communication skills and be detail oriented.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to carry and lift 30 lbs.
• Ability to work weekends is essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend a final details call with clients 4–6 weeks before the wedding to confirm logistics, timeline and expectations.
• Lead the ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding, ensuring timing and cues are clear.
• Serve as the primary on-site advocate for the couple and stay calm under pressure.
• Oversee ceremony and reception setup in line with the design and playbook.
• Manage full wedding day execution from vendor arrival to breakdown.
• Greet, direct, and be the main contact for all vendors on-site.
• Communicate setup instructions clearly to vendors and align with the event plan.
• Coordinate placement of escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest book and décor.
• Support the wedding party and family with timing cues and on-site needs.
• Ensure all end-of-event items are packed and accounted for.
• Proactively manage last-minute changes to maintain a smooth guest experience.
• Weekend work availability is essential.
