Job summary

Crossland Heavy Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent to serve as the on-site representative on construction projects. You will coordinate daily activities, plan pre-job actions, and align field work with the project approach developed with the PM/Sr PM.

Typical projects may reach up to $50 million in value. You will lead safety planning, quality control, labor coordination, subcontractor oversight, and cost tracking while developing personnel and maintaining client

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (Preferred).
• 7+ years of construction field experience, with increasing supervisory responsibility.
• Experience managing heavy civil or water/wastewater treatment projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• OSHA 30 certification (Preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Safety planning included in all pre-job planning and daily operations.
• Quality control on the project, including subcontractors and vendors.
• Initial direction of the project and jobsite setup, including laydown and mobilization.
• Participate in project scheduling and build three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate and supervise all company workforces and adjust labor as needed.
• Develop Senior Field Engineers and other personnel; oversee promotions and transfers.
• Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors; hold weekly meetings.
• Develop construction methods for efficiency and maintain cost records.
• Monitor variances, adjust production rates, and manage cost goals.
• Expedite vendors/subcontractors; escalate major issues to PM.
• Material receiving inspection and proper ticketing; report to Jobsite Administrator.
• Ensure correct equipment utilization; arrange rentals if needed.
• Engage in Owner/Engineer/Contractor meetings and communicate schedule changes.
• Protect company assets and maintain project logs and daily reports.
• Understand subcontractors’ scope of work; manage inclusions/exclusions.
