Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Warehouse Automation Engineering professional to identify, pilot, deploy, and optimize warehouse automation technologies across multiple sites. You will collaborate with operations, IT, solution design, and stakeholders to demonstrate value and feasibility of new capabilities.

You will lead design validation, procurement support, and project management for automation projects, including data analytics and SAT testing to ensure uptime and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation or related experience.
• 2+ years in warehouse automation experience.
• Experience with sortation conveyors, goods-to-person, autonomous vehicles/robots, AS/RS is preferred.
• Automation, Management Consulting, Physical & Process Robotic experience.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management operations, data analytics, Lean methods.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and automation types.
• CAD, slotting, MOST, simulation, WMS, Labor Mgt; Network Design Tools a plus; Tableau/Power BI knowledge.
• Industrial or Mechanical Engineering background.
• Experience in ROI analysis to support targeted ROI.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support RFP projects by identifying automation technologies and building ROI justifications.
• Validate vendor SOW/FSD during project scoping.
• Contribute to automation solution designs for performance and cost considerations.
• Lead procurement collateral and vendor reviews for automation solutions.
• Manage smaller implementation projects and track milestones.
• Coordinate on-site support and SAT testing; manage post-go-live issues.
• Profile data and analyze trends to optimize systems (WMS/WES).
• Support SAT testing and Punch List tracking for project closure.
• Review team strategy with manager and set personal goals.
• Monitor budget with project leads and ensure spend aligns with plans.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve high-priority tickets (P1-P5).
