Job summary
Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, and deploy automation technologies across multiple warehouses.
You will collaborate with operations, IT, and product teams to demonstrate value and feasibility while guiding vendors through the selection and deployment process. The role requires budgeting, ROI analysis, and project management for smaller projects with extensive data analytics to optimize performance and uptime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 3+ years in warehouse automation or related fields.
- Experience with automation technologies and vendor evaluation.
- Knowledge of CAD, simulation, WMS and analytics tools.
- Strong data visualization and decision-support capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead automation technology evaluation and ROI justification for new business opportunities.
- Support SOW validation and gap analysis using FSD checklists.
- Contribute to design reviews ensuring performance and cost effectiveness.
- Manage small projects and track milestones from kickoff to go-live.
- Coordinate with vendors and on-site teams for SAT and rollout.
- Analyze data to drive optimization and continuous improvement.
