Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, deploy and optimize advanced automation across diverse warehouse environments.

You will work with operations, IT, and product teams to demonstrate value, select technologies, and scale successful pilots into customer-ready solutions. The role requires broad automation knowledge, strong project management, and collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver measurable efficiency gains and competitive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling technologies, industrial engineering or warehouse systems integration.
• 2+ years in warehouse automation; experience with various automation types is preferred.
• Experience with financial ROI analyses to support TI/economic justification.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation selection and ROI justification for new business proposals; support lead engineer on major RFP projects.
• Validate vendor FSD/SOW using checklist during scoping to close gaps.
• Provide input on automation designs for efficient operation, considering clearance, power, cost and SLA targets.
• Help lead procurement activities, including vendor tech reviews and RFQ responses.
