Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking a Project Manager – Transmission and Substation to lead multidisciplinary teams through concept, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout for high-voltage projects.

You will oversee scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree (or related field)
• 5+ years of project management experience in transmission lines, substations, or related power projects
• Experience with PM processes in electric utility or power industry
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholders
• Strong communication, presentation, and client-relations skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to travel to project sites and meetings

Responsibilities

• Prepare/update project forecasts, schedules, and status reports
• Lead project meetings and document decisions and actions
• Maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations
• Monitor performance against scope, budget, and quality; mitigate risks
• Coordinate design development, submittals, and quality reviews
• Notify stakeholders of budget/schedule risks or issues
• Handle procurement, change orders, and status updates
• Coordinate across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams
• Resolve field issues per codes, safety standards, and project requirements
• Manage regulatory compliance and siting/permitting matters
• Support bids, proposals, and client communications
• Identify and pursue new business with existing and prospective clients
