Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer for its hybrid/remote-friendly positions in the U.S. Northeast to Mountain West regions. You will lead high-voltage transmission project engineering, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure design excellence across all project phases.

Responsibilities include creating schedules, client coordination, QA/QC adherence, and staff mentorship, with travel as needed. Strong PLS-CADD and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
• 5-7 years of post-education experience.
• 3+ years of experience in the transmission field designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95.
• Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation.
• Good written and oral English communication skills to work with teams and clients.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office suite.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV.
• Develop initial project execution layouts to establish efficient project plans.
• Create and maintain project schedules.
• Conduct weekly/bi-weekly project meetings with clearly identified deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients on project status and meetings.
• Maintain cross-disciplinary project workflow and communications.
• Forecast project requirements for resource planning.
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures.
• Engage in industry conferences for knowledge transfer.
• Demonstrate transmission line design expertise (PLS-CADD, structures, foundations, drawings, loading, procurement).
• Lead project teams of varying sizes.
• Travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities as needed.
• Support PMs with status reports, scope/schedule/budget development, and client meetings.
