Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on electric transmission design from 46kV to 345 kV. The role involves applying NESC, ASCE, ACI standards and preparing bidding, procurement, and construction documents while interfacing with clients and interdisciplinary teams.

The position is 100% remote with regular site visits across Michigan, Northern Indiana, and Toledo area, and may require travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently.
Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Design electric transmission line projects for HV overhead and underground systems from 46kV to 345 kV.
Prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and prepare procurement and construction documents.
Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
Work with a Leidos team and participate in project planning and execution.
