Job summary

Leidos Inc is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, focusing on electric transmission from 46kV to 345 kV. The role involves design of HV overhead and underground systems, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI and related standards.

The position is 100% REMOTE based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with regular site visits to the client’s territory; travel to Northern Indiana and Toledo area may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required
• Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; LPILE or FAD Tools; Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Design electric transmission line systems for 46kV to 345 kV HV overhead and underground projects.
• Prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and prepare material procurement and construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
• Work with a Leidos team to deliver engineering analyses and project scopes.
• Travel to client sites as needed and collaborate with team members.
