Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team delivering electric transmission design projects, from 46kV to 345kV, including overhead and underground systems.

You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other standards, prepare bidding and construction documents, and interface with clients and project teams. This 100% remote role is based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, with potential site visits and travel within the Midwest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required
• Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; LPILE or FAD Tools; Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Design HV overhead and underground transmission lines from 46kV to 345kV
• Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other standards in design and construction documents
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, procurement and construction packages
• Interface with clients, project planning, permitting and construction teams
