Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Lead Engineer 1 - Thermal Dynamics to provide analytical modeling for systems engineering, leading trade studies and architecture development to meet customer requirements. Will coordinate with PM and multi-disciplinary teams, drive modeling efforts, and maintain system models and libraries.

The role requires deep thermal-fluid knowledge, MATLAB/Simulink or Python, and NX CAD; remote or on-site in Utah may be available, with potential for discretionary bonus and relocation

Qualifications

• BS with 8–10 years in aerospace or equivalent, advanced degrees count toward experience.
• Deep knowledge of aerospace disciplines: requirements management, verification, validation.
• Expertise in thermal-fluid sciences: thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer.
• Experience in thermal-fluid systems modeling and nonlinear solvers/optim optimization.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with internal/external partners.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 environmental tests.
• Proficiency with NX CAD.
• Coding/scripting in MATLAB/Simulink or Python.
• Experience building and maintaining system models and libraries.

Responsibilities

• Assist System Engineer in developing system architecture and technical approach.
• Lead thermal modeling and analysis; correlate test data with models.
• Identify and manage thermal performance risks for programs.
• Coordinate modeling activities across engineering groups; ensure traceability.
• Support transitions from prototype to production and RCCA activities.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers during design development.
