Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Lead Engineer 1 - Thermal Dynamics to provide analytical modeling support for systems engineering, leading trade studies and developing a system architecture that meets customer requirements. You will work with a multidisciplinary team across thermal, mechanical, reliability, controls, electronics and software.

The role involves coordinating modeling and analysis activities, maintaining system models, and ensuring performance requirements compliance through tests and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; 8–10 years of relevant experience; MS/PhD considered as satisfying part of experience.
• Deep expertise in thermal-fluid sciences including fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
• Experience in thermal-fluid systems analysis and modeling with nonlinear solvers and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with aerospace requirements management methodologies and processes—traceability, decomposition, derivation, verification, and validation.
• Ability to lead modeling/analysis efforts and coordinate with engineering groups and program manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist Systems Engineer with developing system architecture and technical approach, including thermal and controls analysis and testing.
• Identify and manage technical risks related to thermal performance.
• Serve as technical lead for modeling and analysis and coordinate activities with other engineering groups.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineer and Program Manager to ensure modeling, analysis, and testing progress.
• Decompose high-level requirements into lower-level specifications for thermal and performance targets.
• Review documentation for prototype-to-production transition.
• Provide engineering support to troubleshoot non-performing products.
