Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Lead Engineer 1 - Thermal Dynamics to provide analytical modeling capabilities for the systems engineering team. You will lead thermal modeling, trade studies, and correlation with system models to meet customer requirements.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team including thermal/aerospace analysis, installation, mechanical design, reliability, controls, electronics and software, and testing. This role can be remote or on-site in St. George, Utah.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of relevant aerospace experience.
• Deep expertise in thermal fluid sciences (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer).
• Experience with modeling/analysis of thermal systems and system-level trade studies.
• Familiarity with aerospace requirements management methodologies and DO-DO/verification concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist System Engineer in developing program system architecture and technical approach including thermal and controls analyses.
• Identify and manage technical risks related to thermal performance.
• Lead modeling and analysis efforts and coordinate with other engineering groups.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineer and Program Manager to ensure successful modeling, analysis, and testing development.
• Manage and decompose high-level requirements into lower-level specs for thermal and performance requirements.
