Job summary

GE Aerospace’s Intergalactic team seeks a Lead Engineer 1 - Thermal Dynamics to drive thermal modeling and system architecture for aerospace programs. You’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, lead trade studies, and ensure performance requirements are met through rigorous analysis and testing.

The role covers modeling, verification, and validation across VCS, LCS, and ACS, with responsibility for transitioning prototypes to production. Remote or on-site in Utah options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8–10 years of relevant experience; advanced degrees count toward experience.
• Expertise in requirements management, verification/validation, modeling/documentation, and aerospace disciplines.
• Deep knowledge of thermal-fluid sciences and numerical solvers for system modeling.

Responsibilities

• Assist System Engineer in developing system architecture, thermal/controls analyses and test correlation.
• Identify and manage technical risks related to thermal performance.
• Lead modeling/analysis and coordinate activities across engineering teams.
• Work with Systems Engineer and Program Manager to ensure successful modeling, analysis, and testing.
• Manage thermal/ performance requirements traceability and verification.
• Decompose high-level requirements into lower-level specs for components and suppliers.
• Recommend investments to improve technology and processes.
• Collaborate with customers and suppliers during design development.
• Review documentation for transition from prototype to production.
• Provide engineering support for non-performing products (RCCA, lessons learned).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
