Job summary

Crimson Wine Group seeks an Assistant Tasting Room Manager to lead day-to-day front-of-house operations and elevate the guest experience across our estate venues.

You will manage the hospitality team, drive wine and club sales, and translate business goals into memorable, visitors-focused service. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, wine industry knowledge, and a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant retail tasting room or direct-to-consumer sales experience.
• Strong leadership, influence and communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to implement transformative initiatives and drive results.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Extensive knowledge of luxury products, wine production processes, and the wine industry.
• Professional, engaging and adaptable leadership and hospitality.
• Proficiency with CRM and POS systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, onboard, and supervise tasting room hospitality staff.
• Create and manage staff schedules to balance labor costs with service excellence.
• Manage payroll, tips and monthly sales incentives with accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct performance management and ongoing coaching; ensure policy and labor-law compliance.
• Lead pre-shift meetings to align the team on priorities and safety.
• Oversee FOH/BOH readiness, inventory, merchandise, and logistics.
• Support reservations, events, and a seamless guest experience.
• Ensure daily workflows enable proactive guest service and resolve gaps.
• Maintain CRM/POS systems and ensure operational continuity.
