Job summary

Crimson Wine Group is seeking an Assistant Tasting Room Manager to lead day-to-day front-of-house operations, champion guest experiences, and mentor the hospitality team. You will translate business goals into memorable wine experiences while upholding brand standards and safety protocols.

The role focuses on staff leadership, scheduling, payroll, and ensuring seamless tasting room operations, with opportunities to influence guest journeys and wine club sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of prior retail tasting room or consumer direct sales experience.
• Strong leadership, influence, and communication skills across all levels.
• Strategic thinker with ability to implement initiatives and drive results.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Extensive knowledge of luxury products, wine, and wine industry.
• Proficiency with CRM and POS systems, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Direct responsibility for hiring, training, onboarding, and supervising tasting room hospitality staff.
• Create and manage staff schedules to balance labor and service quality.
• Manage payroll/tips and monthly sales incentives with accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead pre-shift meetings to align daily priorities, service expectations, and safety protocols.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding VIP guests and internal data.
• Support FOH/BOH readiness, inventory counts, and logistics.
• Optimize guest reservations and waitlists to maximize daily capacity.
• Lead on-site events and end-to-end guest experiences.
• Identify service gaps, analyze root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
