Job summary

RTX in Aurora, CO is seeking a Principal System Safety Engineer to establish and execute MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs across the system lifecycle. You will lead safety analyses, mentor engineers, and ensure hazard elimination while coordinating with program leadership and customers.

The role requires active U.S. security clearance, Citizenship, and strong experience in safety program management, DoD standards, and EVMS integration. onsite in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications

• Typically requires STEM degree and extensive safety program experience.
• Experience developing MIL-STD-882E system safety tasks and analyses.
• Experience writing technical reports and presentations.
• Experience briefing safety status to authorities and leadership.
• Experience owning or managing a safety program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E system safety programs across lifecycle.
• Create and manage safety strategies within IMS and program budgets.
• Lead safety groups with government customers and stakeholders.
• Perform safety analyses on designs and requirements for hazard elimination.
• Oversee safety across design, integration, testing, production, and disposal.
• Drive safety culture and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
