Job summary

RTX is seeking a System Safety Engineer for an on-site role in Aurora, CO. You will develop and execute MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs, perform hazard analyses, and coordinate with customer safety reps and Safety Review Boards to obtain safety approvals.

The role requires a STEM degree and at least five years of experience in system safety engineering, with experience risk evaluating complex systems. Candidates must be eligible for a DoD security clearance and be U.S. citizens.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with System Safety Engineering.
• Experience with complex systems and risk evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs.
• Conduct hazard and design analyses to ensure compliance with system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
• Coordinate with customer safety representatives and Safety Review Board authorities to gain safety approval.
• Work across integrated product teams and engineering disciplines to eliminate hazards or implement effective controls.
• Support safety efforts from program startup through production, demilitarization, and disposal phases.
