Job summary

Carle Health in Hartford, CT is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the surgeon, prepare operative fields, and maintain sterile technique during a variety of procedures. You will scrub in, set up back tables, and support the team to ensure timely cases and patient safety.

The role includes mentoring junior technologists, precepting students, and coordinating with RNs to anticipate case needs. BLS certification and a Surgical Technology credential are required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Education: Associate’s degree or certificate in surgical technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures that are timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
• Set up sterile field and scrubbed prior to patient entering the room.
• Assist with case setup to organize back table and mayo.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon-specific procedures.
• Scrub on simple to complex procedures and run mayo independently.
• Manage intra-op events and collaborate with surgeon to anticipate needs.
