Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a surgical technologist to assist surgeons, prepare operative environments, and train staff in a fast-paced setting. The role supports direct and indirect care, with opportunities to mentor peers and students while maintaining patient safety and efficiency.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree or Surgical Technology certificate and BLS certification within 30 days. New grads are welcome to apply, with extensive teamwork and cross-functional collaboration across cases.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Education: Associate‘s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology
• Work Experience: Accepts New Grads

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures timely and efficiently.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entry.
• Set up case so that another can step into an organized back table and mayo.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon specific procedures.
• Scrubs on simple to complex procedures for a variety of specialties.
• Plans, anticipates and provides for expected and unexpected intra-op events.
• Communicates and collaborates with others.
