Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support surgeon procedures and maintain a sterile field. The role includes scrubbing, case setup, and assisting the team with instrument and equipment readiness.

The position requires BLS within 30 days, and completion of Surgical Technology certification with an Associate's Degree. You will mentor staff and collaborate closely with surgeons during procedures.

Qualifications

• BLS certification (American Heart Association) within 30 days.
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology.
• Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Preparation for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures that’s timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
• Instruments, equipment and suture are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Sets up sterile field and is scrubbed prior to patient entering the room.
• Sets up case so that another can step into an organized back table and mayo.
• Collaborates with surgeon prior to case and adjusts as necessary.
• Precepts surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon-specific procedures.
