Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect patient care during operative procedures. The role involves scrubbing, setting up sterile fields, supporting surgeons, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications include BLS eligibility within 30 days and an Associate's or certificate in Surgical Technology. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available, with on-site work at Carle Health facilities.

Qualifications

• Certification: BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• Education: Surgical Technology certificate and associate's degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures; ensure instruments and suture are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before patient entry; organize back table and Mayo stand.
• Anticipate case needs, collaborate with the surgeon, and adapt to surgeon preferences.
• Precept and mentor staff; teach RNs and students in planning for surgical events.
• Be available for on-call hours, including after-hours, weekends and holidays.
