Job summary

Carle Health in Miami, FL seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and prepare operative cases. You will scrub, set up instruments, maintain a sterile field, and mentor other technologists and students as needed.

The role requires flexibility for on-call hours and a commitment to patient safety. Responsibilities include case preparation, instrument readiness, effective teamwork with RNs and surgeons, and adapting to diverse procedures.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Surgical Technology certificate or associate degree required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
• Set up sterile field, scrubbing in prior to patient entry.
• Assemble instruments and equipment, ensuring availability for cases.
• Assist with case turnover, dressing application and documentation.
• Mentor and precept RNs and junior technologists when needed.
• Adapt technique to surgeon preferences and case needs.
