Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a surgical technologist to support direct and indirect patient care during operative procedures. This role includes scrubbing, setting up sterile fields, precepting other techs and RNs, and responding to intraoperative needs.

The candidate should be prepared to run Mayo and adapt to surgeon preferences, with on-call availability as required. The position emphasizes collaboration with surgeons, training of students and staff, and maintaining efficient operating room

Qualifications

BLS within 30 days - AHA.
Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology.
Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

Preparation for surgeon-specific operative procedures that are timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
Sets up sterile field and is scrubbed prior to patient entering the room.
Collaborates with surgeon prior to case and adjusts as necessary.
Precepts surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon-specific procedures.
Runs mayo independently and adapts to surgeon preferences.
Plans for intra-op events and responds to case changes as needed.
Mentors staff and students in planning for surgical events.
