Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures quickly and accurately.
• Ensure instruments, equipment, and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before the patient enters the room.
• Run mayo independently and organize back table for team.
• Precept techs and RNs to prepare for procedures.
• Anticipate intraoperative needs and assist with case changes.
• Assist with case turnover and dressing applications.
• Teach RNs to scrub on a variety of cases.
• Communicate and collaborate to ensure instruments are available.

Education

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology
