Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support surgeons during operative procedures, maintain sterile technique, and ensure efficient case management. This position may involve running Mayo and providing intraoperative support across multiple specialties.

Qualifications include an AHA BLS and an associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology. New grads are welcome, with mentoring and growth opportunities available in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA)
• Associate’s degree or certificate in surgical technology
• Open to new grads with proper certification

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup
• Ensure instruments and supplies are complete and functional
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entry
• Organize back table and mayo setup for seamless transitions
• Anticipate intra-op needs and adapt to case changes
• Teach and mentor RNs and techs for various cases
• Perform case closing activities including dressing and turnover
• Communicate and collaborate to ensure availability of instruments and equipment
