Job summary

Sargent Aerospace & Defense in Tucson, AZ, seeks a senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives onsite. You will manage supplier performance, conduct audits, and mentor peers, ensuring compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 and program requirements.

Responsibilities include audits, supplier development, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration to improve product quality, reliability, and delivery while supporting strategic sourcing and new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 4+ years in supplier quality, manufacturing, or engineering; or an associate degree with 6+ years experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading supplier audits, corrective actions, and supplier development initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements; able to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification, approval, surveillance, audits, and performance management for strategic/high-risk suppliers.
• Lead investigations of supplier escapes, major nonconformances, and field failures; support MRB.
• Facilitate advanced root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5 Why, FTA, DMAIC) and verify effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support supplier selection, qualification, and NPI.
