Job summary

Leidos Engineering seeks a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects. You will lead project teams, guide junior staff, and ensure quality while coordinating with clients and staff.

Preferred candidates hold PE/SE licenses and have expertise with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and RISA 3D; site visits and occasional travel are expected. Portland/remote-ready preferences noted in posting.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain licensure within 3–12 months.
• SE licensure is preferred.
• Experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & Mathcad software, required.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile software, required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Lead development of junior staff and review deliverables.
• Conduct site visits to client substations and travel for meetings and events as needed.
