Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to apply expertise in protective relaying and controls for HV/EHV substations. You will lead an engineering/design team on substation upgrades, develop relay philosophies, and oversee detailed design coordination with clients and vendors.

The role includes mentoring engineers, performing studies and reviews, and occasionally traveling to client sites for reviews and field verification. Hybrid work with three days in-office is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of protection/control/telecommunications experience for HV substations.
• PE license is required.
• Experience coordinating with clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and design team on substation modifications and upgrades.
• Prepare relaying philosophies and configurations for SCADA and telecom.
• Guide engineers and designers in protection and controls design.
• Investigate and troubleshoot a wide range of engineering issues.
• Analyze single line diagrams, relaying and metering diagrams, and DC schematics.
