Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the client territory (MI/OH/IN) with travel to customer sites and occasional in-office collaboration in Michigan. Strong design, QC, and lifecycle support capabilities are essential for delivering multi-discipline substation projects.

Ideal candidates hold a BE/EE degree, 4+ years in substation design (lead role) or 8+ years for senior level, and possess PE certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• PE license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and design substation drawings (one-line, three-line, schematics) and related plans.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation projects.
• Perform QC checks on substation design deliverables.
• Support full project lifecycle from scoping to final design and implementation.
• Apply National Electrical Safety Code requirements to design processes.
• Coordinate with Designers/Drafters to produce required drawings.
