Job summary

Leidos Inc is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to join our Power Delivery team in the United States. The role focuses on executing substation physical and protection & control projects, reading and producing complex drawings, and ensuring design quality with adherence to safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in electrical engineering with 8+ years of substation design experience and strong communication skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of substation design experience.
• Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Collaborative leader capable of working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute substation physical and P&C projects with attention to quality control.
• Read and design substation drawings (one-line, three-line, schematics, wiring, plan-section, conduit, grounding).
• Create and check bill of materials for substation projects.
• Provide project lifecycle support from scoping to final design and implementation.
• Apply National Electrical Safety Code requirements to design processes.
• Collaborate with clients and designers to implement standards.
