Sargent & Lundy invites applications for a Lead Substation Engineer to apply expertise in protective relaying and controls for HV/EHV substations. The role includes guiding engineers, coordinating with clients and vendors, and reviewing designs for accuracy.

The position features a hybrid work arrangement, relocation support, and opportunities to contribute to a broad range of substation projects across client facilities.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree.
• 12 or more years experience designing substations at 138kV and above.
• PE license.
• Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
• Experience in writing and providing support documentation for relay calculations.
• Experience with producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Responsabilités

• Directly apply knowledge of protective relaying and controls systems for HV and EHV substations.
• Prepare relaying philosophies and configurations for SCADA and communications.
• Guide junior and senior engineers and designers in protection and controls design.
• Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues across projects.
• Design single line diagrams, relay and metering diagrams, and DC schematic diagrams.
• Prepare engineering studies and peer reviews for clients.
• Review others' work for accuracy in calculations and drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, and suppliers for timely design.
