Job summary
WSP is seeking a Substation Senior Project Engineer in Fort Worth, TX. You will provide technical leadership for substation design, HV/MV systems, relay protection, and SCADA integration, driving complex projects from concept to delivery.
Qualified candidates have 12+ years in electrical engineering, a PE license, and strong knowledge of IEEE/NEC/NESC standards, with travel as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred).
- 12+ years in electrical engineering, substation design, and infrastructure development.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license; multi-state preferred.
- Strong knowledge of power systems analysis, P&C, grounding, and short circuit studies.
- Experience with AIS/GIS substations and HV/MV systems.
- Familiarity with IEEE, NEC, NESC, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to lead teams and manage QA/QC and design reviews.
- Travel to project sites and client offices as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for substation design, HV/MV systems, and P&C.
- Lead reviews of drawings, protection schemes, and equipment layouts.
- Manage large substation and infrastructure projects, budgets, and resources.
- Support business development and client presentations in the region.
- Develop proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
- Mentor staff in substation design and project delivery best practices.
- Ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to codes in all designs.
- Collaborate with utilities, EPC firms, OEMs, and regulators.
