Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking an Experienced Substation Electrical Engineer for multiple Texas offices and Overland Park, KS. You will contribute to the Power Delivery Substation Team, focusing on high‑voltage substations, protection & control, and power distribution projects.

The role supports design, development, and construction activities across utilities, industrial, and government projects, with a hybrid or in‑office setup preferred and remote consideration for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
3–5 years of post-education experience in electrical engineering for power transmission and distribution.
Engineer in Training Certification preferred or required.
Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
Ability to coordinate with regulators and understand requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide technical design support for high-voltage substation projects (15kV–345kV, up to 500kV preferred).
Develop physical layouts, bus arrangements, grounding, and protection & control systems.
Analyze data for procurement packages, IFR/IRC design, and IEEE/NERC standards.
Prepare reports, drawings, and calculations for project teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
