Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking an Experienced Substation Electrical Engineer (Physical and/or Protection & Controls) to support our Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, TX offices.

Join a growing Power Delivery Substation team and work in a hybrid or in-office setting with mentorship and collaboration. You will design and develop high-voltage substations (15kV–345kV, up to 500kV preferred), prepare calculations, review specifications, and support project teams from concept through construction across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3–5 years of post-education electrical engineering experience in power transmission/distribution design.
• Engineer in Training Certification (EIT) preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for design, development and construction of high-voltage substations (15kV–345kV; up to 500kV preferred).
• Prepare data, calculations, and drawings for procurement and construction.
• Review third-party design documents, procurement lists and project plans.
• Develop substation layouts, grounding, and protection/control schematics.
• Support senior engineers and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across utilities and government projects.
