Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks an Experienced Substation Electrical Engineer to support projects across Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, and Overland Park.

The role focuses on physical and/or protection & controls engineering for 15kV–345kV substations, with up to 500kV preferred, and a hybrid/in-office setup with remote consideration for experienced candidates. You will participate in design development, data analysis, and reporting, contributing to high-voltage project success while adhering to safety

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
3–5 years of relevant post-education experience in electrical design for power systems.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Familiarity with regulations and design reviews for utility projects.

Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance for the design, development, and construction of high-voltage substations (15kV–345kV).
Analyze data for procurement packages, IFR/IRC design, and IEEE/NERC standards compliance.
Review third-party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans.
Develop electrical layouts and protection & control schematics for substations.
Collaborate across disciplines on projects with regulators and stakeholders.
