Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Florida seeks a Sr Civil Engineer - Steel Structures to lead the design of ground mechanical and structural systems for launch infrastructure at LC-36, Cape Canaveral. You will guide engineering teams, perform advanced analyses, and ensure robust, code-compliant solutions for aerospace tooling and GSE.

Requires 10+ years in large steel structures, PE license, and proficiency with FEA; spaceflight experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• 10+ years designing/constructing large steel structural systems.
• Experience with FEA tools and steel bolted/welded connections.
• Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, AISC, AWS codes; PE license required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for major structural systems and mentor staff.
• Define and drive structural design solutions for large systems.
• Lead and review FEA and hand-calcs for steel structures.
• Manage external design partners through project lifecycle; oversee fabrication and testing.
