Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking a Sr Civil Engineer — Steel Structures to design and develop key ground structural systems for the Cape Canaveral launch site. You will lead major structural projects, perform FEA, and oversee fabrication and testing of GSE for New Glenn rockets.
The role requires a PE license, 10+ years in steel structures, and U.S. work authorization. Join a safety‑driven team building aerospace ground support equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- 10+ years of experience in design/analysis/construction of large steel structural systems.
- Experience with FEA tools for structural/mechanical analysis.
- Experience designing bolted and welded connections.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- U.S. citizen or eligible for U.S. employment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for major structural systems and mentor junior staff.
- Define and drive structural design solutions for large structural/mechanical systems.
- Lead, perform, and review FEA and hand-calcs for complex steel structures.
- Manage external design and fabrication partners through complete project lifecycle, and oversee equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing & activation.
