Job summary
Blue Origin in Florida is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design efforts for large structural systems and GSE for the New Glenn program. You will own and deliver structural design solutions, perform FEA and hand calculations, and coordinate with external design and fabrication partners across the project lifecycle.
The role requires a Bachelor's in Structural Engineering with 7+ years of experience in steel structures, knowledge of IBC/ASCE/AISC, and experience with STAAD, ANSYS,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience designing/analysing large steel structural systems.
- Experience in structural/mechanical analysis using FEA tools.
- Experience designing and analysing bolted and welded connections.
- Knowledge of IBC/ASCE/AISC/AWS codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for assigned subsystems, independently resolve technical challenges.
- Own and deliver structural design solutions for large structural/mechanical systems.
- Independently perform and review FEA and hand-calc for complex steel structures.
- Manage external design and fabrication partners through full project lifecycle, including fabrication, assembly, installation and testing.
