Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to own the structural analysis of critical spacecraft components from concept through qualification, ensuring mission reliability. You will perform FEA, develop analytical models, and collaborate with design engineers to optimize mass and stiffness for launch and in‑orbit operation.

A hands‑on, first‑principles problem solver with solid mechanics expertise is essential, as is experience with space hardware environments and applicable codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of professional experience in structural analysis for space/aerospace.
• Expert proficiency with FEA software such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the structural analysis for critical spacecraft components from concept to verification.
• Perform detailed FEA to model stress, strain, deformation, and modal response of complex systems.
• Develop analytical models and hand calculations to anchor FEA results.
