Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural analysis for spacecraft components from concept through qualification. You will apply FEA and hand calculations to ensure safety under launch and in‑orbit environments, while guiding design improvements.

You will mentor engineers, work with design teams to optimize mass and stiffness, and support test plans and verification activities for critical mission hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in structural analysis for space/aerospace environments.
• Expert proficiency with FEA software such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus.
• Experience performing hand calculations and solid mechanics fundamentals.
• Experience with launch/space operational environments (vibration, shock, thermal cycles).

Responsibilities

• Own and execute structural analysis for spacecraft components from concept to verification.
• Perform detailed FEA to model stress, strain, and modal response of mechanical systems.
• Develop analytical models and correlate with test data.
• Collaborate with design engineers to optimize mass and stiffness.
• Mentor other engineers in structural analysis.
