Job summary

Blue Origin in Florida seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis of ground-support equipment and test facilities for space vehicles. You will own lifecycle design, perform FEA with STAAD/ANSYS, and guide junior engineers.

Role requires collaboration with external partners, adherence to ASME Y14.5, and occasional travel. A strong background in structural systems and foundations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural, civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in design and construction of large structural systems.
• Experience with FEA using STAAD and ANSYS.
• Experience in bolted and welded connections design & review.
• Concrete foundations and anchors design experience.
• 3D CAD experience; Creo preferred; interpret ASME Y14.5 standards.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible refugee/asylum status.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop structural design solutions for complex ground systems and GSE.
• Own lifecycle design of test stand integration tooling from concept to production.
• Provide FEA and hand-calcs for steel structures and tooling fixtures.
• Mentor junior engineers in analysis methods and design standards.
• Coordinate with external design/fabrication partners across projects.
• Identify and resolve complex technical risks; travel may be required.
