Job summary
Jacobs is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer in the USA Southeast region to guide calculations, specifications and drawings for complex facilities. You will develop design concepts, drive structural model accuracy, and supervise engineers and drafters, while collaborating with multi‑discipline teams to meet client needs.
The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, PE license, 4+ years of structural experience, and familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, structural emphasis.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration ability.
- Experience with US codes: IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of structural engineers and designers in calculations, specs and drawings.
- Develop structural concepts, perform analysis, and communicate requirements clearly.
- Lead quality reviews and ensure deliverables meet schedule and budget.
- Serve as stamping engineer of record on select projects when needed.
- Mentor less experienced staff and drive process improvements.
