Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks aLead Design Engineer to direct a structural engineering team on nuclear facilities projects. You will guide calculations, review drawings, and interface with clients across disciplines to ensure design excellence.

Responsibilities include coordinating with engineers and suppliers, utilizing advanced software, and mentoring junior staff while maintaining high standards of safety and quality in every phase of design and construction.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 12+ years of experience in design and analysis of industrial / heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and , ACI.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• PE or SE license

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a structural engineering team on projects for nuclear facilities.
• Guide design calculations, develop specifications, and review drawings.
• Coordinate with other engineers and clients to ensure project success.
• Travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and construction coordination.
