Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Denver to lead design teams across diverse projects, including power, healthcare, and industrial facilities. You will drive design through conception to construction and manage budgets and staffing while interfacing with clients and vendors.

The role requires strong knowledge of structural codes, leadership ability, and excellent communication. PE license is preferred and travel is part of the job.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in structural engineering with 7 years experience.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7).
• Experience leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Prepare structural equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Review structural vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Develop project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning.
• Lead QA/QC processes and ensure drawings meet standards and corrections are made.
