Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver, CO, seeks a Staff Structural Engineer to lead design efforts on power delivery, pipelines and industrial facilities. You will design structures from concept through design completion and support field inspections.

Based in Denver, you will adapt drawings to budget and client needs, coordinate with project managers, and ensure safe, compliant solutions. Travel ~15% with a strong ESOP/401(k) benefits package.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• 5 years civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
• PE certification preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with standard civil engineering techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design from conceptual to design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for substations, pipelines, and industrial facilities.
• Design structural components per project manager requirements.
• Apply knowledge of civil engineering concepts, codes and procedures.
• Research and compile project data, studies, and reports; write specs.
• Update drawings across CAD applications.
• Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawings, and contract admin.
• Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations.
• All other duties as assigned.
